Third Photo Shoot With Pics By Gaz

I had a very fun shoot earlier this week with the lovely Pics By Gaz. It was organised very last minute and apart from my 2.5 hour train journey to get there which should normally take 40 minutes, we had a incredibly fun day. I was sporting my designer fur (it keeps me warm in the winter), went for a miliary-style cut from the lovely Claudia who has recently jumped into Jordi’s shoes to carry on with my hispanic styling and i also felt surprisingly in shape considering the amount i had been eating over the Christmas period!

I brought my usual shoot bag with some new bits that i had purchased in Barcelona and New York – Really loving my ES Underwear/Swimwear and A&F Jeans at the moment. I also tried out some Timoteo samples that Gaz had been sent which fitted really well and looked great. Timoteo is a contemporary US male apparel brand which is starting to become more popular over here recently. We worked with two different backdrops and focused primarily on body shapes which highlighted abdominal definition. A BIG thank you to Pics By Gaz for his time and effort – A complete pleasure to work with.

Time Out

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! You might have noticed that i haven’t been updating here recently. Apart from a few editorials, I actually took the decision to have two months off and spent this time jet-setting around the globe to the US, Eastern Europe, Mainland Spain and a number of its islands – I also moved house as well (between flights!). Now the dust has settled and my batteries are fully recharged, what better way than to jump straight back into the mix. :)

Wishing you all a new year that turns dreams into reality and efforts into great achievements xxx

Fight Club

An event in my calendar that i am thoroughly looking forward to in a few weeks time is the book launch of ‘Fight Club‘ by Pics By Gaz – It’s about time he released a book!

This is a truly masculine collaborative collection of just a small snippit of some of the fantastic work that he produces. It puts a big smile on my face that he’s finally done it.

I expect a signed copy! ;)

Gaydar Promo Work

Yet again, I had the fantastic opportunity of representing Gaydar with my twin brother for Manchester Gay Pride! Gaydar is a brand that I am incredibly passionate about and always find it a pleasure to work for – The guys at Gaydar towers are a great giggle and the costumes we were given were FANTASTIC! It doesn’t even bear thinking about how much work must go into creating them. The wings were incredible, even if my little shoulders didnt agree, haha.

This year was the first time that Gaydar took part in the parade itself. Not only did we dance throughout the initial rain, we even won the best parade entry competition! (Charlie and I made it onto BBC News too!) We spent the afternoon handing out the usual Gaydar merchandise such as fans, armbands and whistles and i played photographer for a while too – It is scary how excited people get over free giveaways!

Thank you to ChrisGeary.com for the photos and a BIG shout-out to the whole promo team, you were a great laugh :-)

Second Photo Shoot With Pics By Gaz

I do thoroughly enjoy my shoots with Gaz. His high degree of professionalism whilst consistently being able to communicate in a positive and friendly manner, always makes me smile. For me, people skills are an incredibly important factor during a shoot and the rapport built will always be evident within the work produced.

It’s fantastic to be able to come to a ‘blank canvas’ shoot where the photographer has a number of ideas to  work with – We did a great underwear series on some neutral backdrops whilst we discussed one of Gaz’s seemingly hidden talents. It turns out that Gaz is a recognised professional body painter! <- He kept that one quiet from me! Having someone paint my abdomen and backside was pretty different from my normal shoots but incredibly fun to take part in.

Watch this space as I have a feeling that we will work together again (on location!) sometime very soon!

Gay Times Fitness Shoot

Remember that shoot I mentioned a few months back where I felt like Tony Hart’s ‘Morph’ with the free weights? Well The September issue of GT (Gay Times) is now out and is featuring me on two pages in their health & fitness section. Yes I know what you are probably thinking – I’m not exactly the face of David Llloyd, haha. At least i’m not as bad as my naughty twin brother who this weekend was asking if he could “just sit on the powerplate or have a sunbed’ whilst I was doing my pre-pride workout. *rolls eyes*

The first part of the shoot was with the personal trainer and whilst I watched as the other two models did stretches and I confidently thought to myself ‘ I can do that’, my jaw dropped when I was informed that I would be doing free weights instead! Admittedly, free weights have never really been my primary choice when visiting the gym and I always brushed the comments under the carpet when gym buddies told me that they work muscles that machines cant really mimic – Jesus wept, were they right!

I have since added a free weight aspect to my workout for obvious reasons :)  Keep a look out for the body modelling i did in the second part of the shoot for the health section of upcoming GT issues!

RoB Photo Shoot- London Fetish Weekend

A very unexpected addition to my modelling calendar took place this weekend! The lovely Chris Jepson (who i am shooting with again this week) asked if i would like to participate in a shoot at RoB London for London Fetish Weekend. Rob London, for those of you who don’t know is one of Europe’s premier retailers for ‘alternative lifestyle clothing’ – Leather, rubber, toys and other types of fetish wear. I quickly necked my coffee in Soho and popped around the corner to have a look :)

To be honest, i was a little nervous on my way there since i wasn’t entirely sure what i should expect. When i Arrived, Chris was SERIOUSLY busy taking photos and told me to take a look around the shop for anything i wanted to try on. I started to have a browse but admittedly i probably looked like a lost lamb (ok…a hairy cub) The staff at RoB were so unbelievably friendly and stepped in to help me out. Granted, their first choices were a little ‘too’ fetish for my comfort zone being the delicate little flower that i am… *grins*

A big well done to Chris for shooting 47 guys in 5 hours (thats 1 every 6 minutes!). Next time i’ll try and be a little more adventurous ;)

Sixth Photo Shoot With Leigh Carter

My first shoot of 2010 with Mr Carter and i set him a little challenge; to do something out of his comfort zone! Leigh is not the biggest fan of body hair – Unfortunately for me, i’m covered in the stuff and often find myself running from the keepers of London Zoo.

Admittedly as i am getting older, i have learnt that its a part of me and something i have to accept i cant change. (we wont talk about the 72 weeks of not-so-sucessful laser) One good thing that has come of it is my ‘designer beard’. No boys and girls, nature didnt give me a perfectly curved edge.  You can thank the girls at the skin clinic that had to laser it by hand with me watching like a hawk *goes red*

It was fantastic to catch up with Leigh and see how he is getting on and the projects that he has got coming up. I would thoroughly recommend working with this gentleman – He has that fantastic ability of making you feel comfortable as soon as you meet him, communication and direction is great and i’m always impressed with the final product.

Make a book Leigh!

Momentum

Things have really been up in the air in recent months – Following my ‘not quite’ emigration to the USA to deal with the relocation of our New York office, i have stayed put with the right incentives to do so and back on track with my modelling.

I took part in an exciting shoot for Gay times a couple of weeks ago for their health and fitness sections so be sure to look out for them in upcoming issues. Lets just say free-weights are not my forte so I’m a little more confident about how the images will turn out for the health section, haha.

This weekend i have the pleasure to be doing my first shoot for 2010 with the amazing Leigh Carter – The photographer who really got my modelling to take off. His mission for this weekend is to do something that is out of both of our comfort zones which I’m really looking forward to – think wet, fur, and even a bit of leather thrown in for good measure *smirks*.

I also have my 2nd shoot with both Chris Jepson and Pics By Gaz in coming weeks. Following a Skype call with Gaz yesterday, we have already come up with an ‘interesting’ theme that should look fantastic in both of our portfolios.

There is some great work in the pipeline so stay tuned and as always, your thoughts and comments are always appreciated.

Online Portfolio

‘Drum roll please?!’ Yes, it’s finally happened. After months of fiddling around with various ideas for an online portfolio, i decided that ‘less is more’ and have gone for a simple yet effective concept. I still have a bit of work to do such adding some hyperlinks to my other content on the web, but overall – i’m pretty happy with it!

I will keep this updated going forward, with some of my favourite work. As always, let me know what you think. :)
